Genewize Distributors: Here's a very simple product description that may help you when talking with people about the Genewize product(s).

When most people hear about genetically-guided nutrition, they want to know what exactly that means.

Well, I'm not going to attempt to tell you EXACTLY what it means, but I'll do my best to simplify the science behind the DNA test and the customized nutrition itself.

Let's talk about the dna test first.
A simple cotton swab on the inside of your cheek, air dried and then sent off to a secure lab to be analyzed. Let's leave the science of the test for the scientists.

What are they looking for in your DNA?
Great question. Well, I'm going outside of my comfort zone here, but I"ll attempt to give you a simple answer. 12 SNPs of your DNA is being analyzed for the sequence of nucleotides - but don't freak out. I'll help you through this one to the best of my ability.

SNP = Single nucleotide polymorphisms - they're looking at 12 areas of SNPs to find mutations in the DNA.

The 12 SNPs that are currently being tested are good indicators for a variety of genetic expressions we don't want - such as high blood pressure and an inability to sequester toxins from our environment.

In the Genewize FAQ you'll find that the results of the testing can be used to turn genetic expressions 'on and off'. It's been shown scientifically that nutrition can affect the way we express genes (or don't express them).

So for instance, if you know you have a disposition to high blood pressure (which you've determined through genetic testing), you have the ability to influence the expression of your genetics by supplying your body with the right nutrients for optimal genetic expression.
